Trying To Move The Mess About!

Another day, another lie-in.
Today was to move the crap around the house!
I was having my 1960's cabinet delivered later.
So things had to be moved about.
The large (heavy) box was attempting to be fitted in the cupboard under the stairs.
It wouldn't fit! (Back upstairs it went!)
Trying to tidy hubby's part of the bedroom.
Tried to move one piece, then everything fell down like a trail of dominoes...
His crap went everywhere.....
I thought I had a hoarding problem.....
The weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow.
So I am sorting out our Pantry!
A Pine bookcase I won off EBay is also arriving tomorrow..
Don't worry I have made a space....just :P

It's Only The First Day!!

First day of the half term holidays!
I'm off work, and have my children at home with me.
So out comes the referee's shirt, whistle, and showing a lot of red and yellow cards.
I have bags of patience and gritting my teeth a lot!
It was nice to stay a little bit longer in bed than I normally do on a weekday.
Popped into Bromsgrove.
Did our normal charity shop looking.
Then into Droitwich.
Free coffee, free magazine, great reduced food, and offers at Waitrose.
Once children had gone to bed,
(They first had to show me how to work my own Blu-Ray machine!)
Now to watch my mate, Michael Fassbender in the film "Shame".
Wow, wow wow, yum yum (Eyes wide open!)

We have just had a homemade 3 course meal here.
Opening the adult toy box later.....;P
Hopefully I have a peaceful week at home with my kids..
Yeah right......\o/

It's my all time favourite pop artist's Birthday today.
He is 66 years old, and his name is Peter Gabriel.
I wished him Happy Birthday on Twitter.
Getting the bits ready for tomorrow.
However it's going to be a bit different this year.
No Chocolate, no Cake, but plenty of hugs, kisses and other things ;)
Home made card, home made 3 course meal and Shloer (as we don't drink alcohol still!)
Broke open my newly delivered Mary Berry Cookbook...
Homemade Chicken,Leek & Mushroom Pie cooking in the oven.
Better get on making my hubby's Valentine's card.......

Funky Chicken Dancing!

Woo hoo I have got this Friday Feeling so bad!
I enjoyed a late breakfast and chat at Webb's.
It's wasn't cold as yesterday.
So nobody was Tank driving (see yesterday's blog post about it)
It's the last day of school and work for a WHOLE WEEK!
Valentine's Day on Sunday....
No cake or chocolate for hubby or me.
I still can use my warm hands...;P
Time to celebrate with funky chicken dance moves  in the Living Room
With the curtains  wide open!

Tank Driving

Another cold one, -3c.
The car was frozen solid.
So I had to give her a good scrape.
While I was enjoying my first shift of JOB 1
I noticed other car drivers were driving cars like they were tanks.
They only scraped a small slit on their side of the windscreen!!!
Later on, I chatted with an ex-Postman for a good 2 hours in the Library.
We chatted about the times, and people who was at Royal Mail when we worked there.
Last night I had to call out the Paramedics out
For my hubby, as he had a serious coughing fit.
After a while, he got his breath back.
They asked about the mark on his forehead.
I replied," That my love, is the mark of my thumb-print!"

Free magazine, free cup of coffee and some great reduced food!
I made a lovely hot beef stir fry.
Packed with ginger, garlic, and lots of chillies!
After a few mouthfuls...the hubby shouted for...."Water!"
I calmly ate all mine.
Good job I have a concrete mouth!

Welcome to Pancake Day.
After the telling off from my older son about NOT using my dash cam.
It was in full use today (after sellotaping the suction cup to the windscreen!)
  1. Trip to Morrison s
  2. Trip to Coughton (to pick up some eggs, and finding out it was closed :()
  3. Back home.
  4. Then to a mate's for catch up chat and coffee
  5. Then to work
  6. Then home.
We as a family have been watching:
The Dash Cam Adventures Of The Pink Princess.
Just  like watching old family movies (but of my driving, and the scenery!)
I have enjoyed the last of chocolate on my pancakes before the 40 days start of having NONE!
Hubby has already the circled the date on the calendar when he can start tucking into chocolate!
The Dash Cam Adventures.....

Giving It Up For Lent!

Back on the wobbly work wheel today.
Got blown about at work, and it rained for the last 15 minutes of my shift.
Had breakfast at the M&S cafe.
Got told off by my older son for not using the dash cam I bought.
"It's no use being at home, you are supposed to use it!"
He is off to Venice next week for a holiday.
If this rain continues here, we will have to be using boats to get round!
Went to the Doctors for a blood test.
The veins in my arm as normal was being tight for giving up blood.
3 test tubes later, I was surprised to find my blood was red not green ;P
I am giving up cake & chocolate for Lent.
Hubby has reluctantly joined in.
He is glad it is only for 40 days.....

Sunday 7 February 2016

Pour Me A Large One!

Today has been a testing Sunday to say the least!
Attempting to get our children to tidy their bedrooms...
I wonder where they inherited the hording from??
I had a quick play with my Henry the Hoover..
I tried to hunt down my Mary Berry cookbooks..
Only found one :(
Trying to organise my very small kitchen around.
Found an ideal storage solution for my cake ingredients!
To cap my Sunday off...
Hubby was unpacking the shopping ...
Whoops!

Saturday 6 February 2016

Never Have Enough Of.....

Woke up far too early on a Saturday morning.
So the sandwiches were made, ready for our morning out.
The rain and wind arrived, and it is still raining!!
We went to the Birmingham Motorcycle Museum for the
A bit of a mad rush at first, plenty of shoving and barging.
Still, got loads of lovely card crap!
Made the most of National Library Day.
Our kids went to the cinema club being held at our Library.
While hubby and I enjoyed a M&S takeaway coffee and a read of a newspaper.
The red cross is still on the front door, as I feel unwell.
Come hell and high water, I am having a small lie-in tomorrow!

Friday 5 February 2016

Time To Get Down And Boogie!!

We finally reached Friday!
So glad I didn't go to Webb's today for coffee and chat.
As the way to Webb's was gridlocked.
My younger son was better enough to go back to school.
So I made the most of the day in Alcester.
Visited several charity shows and even popped into Waitrose!
Enjoyed the free coffee and free newspaper!!
Sad to hear the news of  the death of Maurice White.
The founder of Earth Wind and Fire.
His songs always make me get down and boogie!

Thursday 4 February 2016

Nailing The Red Cross On The Front Door!

Thursday has gone so quick!!!
Younger son was off with sore throat, cough and high temperature.
Hubby is still off with a chest infection.
I made a First Birthday card for my friend's daughter.
The second shift of Job 1 again so much happened.
One van didn't stop and went under my Lollipop stick
One car totally ignored me and my stick and kept driving.
Someone dropped their football, and rushed into the road in front of moving traffic, to collect it.
I shouted STOP, before they could go in the road.
Thank God it's Friday tomorrow!!!
James did some cooking at school today.
Spicy Chicken Paella meal, our tea was so nice,
It's like there's a party in my mouth, and everyone's invited!"

Wednesday 3 February 2016

I Quite Like My Hump...

Welcome to Hump Of The Week.
The morning shift went a lot better than yesterday.
Visited the Doctors for some cream...
One thing led to another and the subjects of:
Different lubes and rabbit was mentioned at one point.
Having a  blood test next week.
My veins disappear, so its hard as hell to get blood out of my arms!
One red car tried to go around me when I was crossing kids over,
During the afternoon shift of Job 1....
I just kept rolling my eyes....

Tuesday 2 February 2016

Watching The Wheels Trying To Stop!

Happy Groundhog Day!
I had some near misses on my first shift on JOB 1
One white car didn't stop.
Next up, one blue car had to slam the brakes on or I would have been hit!
I saw a Policeman on a motorcycle pull one parent up for bad driving.
My job never gets boring, but does get very dangerous!
I am nursing a sick hubby this week.
He has been diagnosed as having a Chest Infection.
It nice to see what I actually do while he is normally at work.
Lots of coffee drinking, Internet, and a dash of housework!
(so he thinks!)
Now to grab the feather duster for some light dusting (cough cough).

Monday 1 February 2016

Rising To The Occasion

Welcome to the 1st of February.
It's my real birthday this month (29th)
11 years old in real Leap years..
Experiencing a bit of wind around here..
Storm Henry arrived.
My skirt was being blown about on second shift of Job 1.
There was no rising to the occasion this time of the skirt....Just!
It would have been sight for some very sore eyes if the skirt had been lifted!

Sunday 31 January 2016

Attempting To Try Out The New Bed!

What a Sunday I have had!
Heard that Terry Wogan had died :(
Finished getting the last bit of Scout's uniform.
Finally won a mid-sleeper bed for my middle son.
My younger brother went over to pick it up and bring it back here.
Sorted out all my craft crap into bigger see-through boxes.
Hubby and Jack put the sleeper bed back together.
Trying to open a tin, my finger caught it, and wow look how much blood comes out of my finger!
My son is attempting to put all his crap back into his room.
At this rate, it might be Midnight by the time he sleeps in his new bed!

Saturday 30 January 2016

Picking It All Up

We have reached Saturday.
Still up early, got so much to do...
Went out in hubby's new car...
We picked up our new hamster called Harley.
Buried Milky in my dad's back garden.
(With lots of crying and a minute's silence)
Picked up my bulk load of lipsticks from Boots.
Had a free coffee from M&S
Then onto Waitrose,
As I picked up 2 Scout's shirts I bought from John Lewis.
Hubby is still coughing.
So he will be rubbed head to toe with Vicks Vaporub
By my very warm hands ;P

Friday 29 January 2016

The Smell Of A New Car....

Woo hoo it's Friday...
The weekend is soon here.
Enjoyed a half price breakfast at Webb's.
I left hubby to use his warm hands on Henry the hoover.
Even used a warm finger to put on the washing machine.
Hubby picked up his new car tonight.
I haven't actually gone out to look at it or look in it.
I peered through the window at it.
As it was too dark and raining...
The hunt for the Cabin bed continues....
Either too far away or too expensive!!

Thursday 28 January 2016

Goodbye Milky :'(

There has been a dark cloud over this house since last night.
Our oldest hamster, Milky (we had 3) had passed away.
We didn't want the children getting upset before school.
We have put him in a small Amazon box, ready to be buried in the garden.
Went to the same car showroom where hubby went on Sunday.
I enquired (or joked) how much they would give me for my Pink Princess for a part exchange.
They embarrassed themselves with the offer.....
I told them to stick their offer where the sun doesn't shine!
Since the kids came home, there has been non-stop tears over the deceased hamster.
I have high hopes happiness will return soon, a early night, and a hot chocolate might help!

Wednesday 27 January 2016

Counting Down The Days......

Welcome to Hump Of The Week,
The green wellington boots came on during first shift of JOB 1
However after 10 minutes, it stopped raining.
Once finished, back home I go.
My hubby now realises I can talk a lot.
He is slowly recovering from his viral infection.
After a few days at home with me,
He will be well enough to go back to work, to give his ears a rest!
I have put my kid's names down for a Scout weekend.
I commented, "How we were looking forward to our own weekend away."
"You can't go too far, just in case,"I was told.
"Don't worry, we aren't leaving the country, just be holed up in a hotel with a four poster bed!"
"Do they know about the activities going to take place?"
"I do, I would love to go, my kids will so enjoy themselves doing them!" I replied.
Now to book that hotel.....

Tuesday 26 January 2016

Never Enough Batteries....

What a day I have had!
I takes hubby down to our A&E as he was coughing up blood during the night.
After 4 hours of being tested, he has got viral infection on his chest/throat.
So I will be looking after him with my warm hands :P
At Job 2 after they learnt of hubby not being well.
" No sex for you then!" Said one co-worker
"I'm alright, I have a rabbit!" I replied.
"You go through a lot of batteries then?"
"I buy in bulk" I laughed.
"I know of a industrial strength car battery charger if you run out of batteries," one replied.
"If you ever wonder why the lights dim around here, I am too blame!" I replied, winking back at them
The 3 men had chronic blushes, when I left. My work here was done!

Monday 25 January 2016

Bid,Bid,Bid, Damn It's Gone Too High!!!

Back on that wobbly work wheel...
The temperatures were going back up to 8c..:)
The plan today was to make 2 cards and do some yoga.
No chance!
First sort out the crap from recycling in one son's room.
Sew up some holes that appeared on their cuddly toys.
Then it was to try and bid for a Cabin bed.
The price was going up, up, up....
I stopped at £75.
The car salesman was trying to hunt my hubby down to see if he has changed his mind.
(As I held his balls firmly,) His answer was:
"Give me better price on my car!"
Now back to do some bidding....
