Drama & Crisis Rolled Into Cake!

Today was the day I was going to make that cake.....

I got out of the house to get some milk from Lidl...

 

 

 I asked in Lidl if they sold the Wonky box.

They didn't :(

 Dunelm selling nice stuff...↑↑

Now to start on the cake finally...

Wrote out the recipe..

 Things didn't start brilliantly when I discovered we had no coco powder!

Into Sexy Beast to get some...

 

 

 I decide to use Kane the Kenwood this time.

It didn't help, that as soon I turned him on.

He went way too fast, and I lost most of the mixture through the gaping hole of the lid...

 I added some more mixture, and poured it into the cake tins..

Into the oven it went...

Time for much needed Coffee....

 Once the chocolate sponges were cooled down, I knew I was going to have problems...

I made the peppermint chocolate mix to go in the middle of the cake. The top sponge was falling apart. I add the shiny chocolate for the top of the cake....

Oh dear, this isn't going to end right....

I made a chocolate collar and put it in the fridge to set...

In the meantime...

It's tea time...

 Chop Chop Time.

To the sound of groans in my house..

Back to watch more Bake Off... 

 

Ready,Willing & Able....

Welcome to my hump of the week!

I decided to give the walk around the running track a miss this week..

Instead I was going for a walk around the lake with my kids...

Nice to have some coffee and toast...

I did some job hunting.

Applied for two jobs.

Lots of copying and pasting my qualifications from one application form to another.... 

Off to see my dad in the Sexy Beast.

 

 

  Big big sunglasses back on...

Saw my dad for a bit.

Back home for a light lunch before our walk.

 Dark clouds coming over..

Fingers crossed it's not going to rain..

 

 Waits around for the people to walk around the lake with. By 1pm no one appeared, so we started to walk as a trio.

 Those dark clouds are coming nearer.

 Smoke coming off my trainers...

 The clouds coming nearer...

 Finished!

 Gets home before the rain starts...

Bake off series 1 we start to watch.

Comes back from Job with some tubes for our Gerbils...

 

 Enjoyed a ice lolly...↓↓

 

 There is a break from the rain.

Time for chop chop..

 West Country Chicken:

 Savoy Cabbage,

 Chopped onion

, Garlic,

 Chick peas,

 Worcestershire sauce,

 Chopped chicken 

&

 Cooked in cider

 My baking hand started itching...

I quickly made:

Mango, cherry, caramel, & pecan tart

 Managed to keep my eyes open to watch the final of Bake Off Series 1.

I will start on cake tomorrow....

Even if I have to chain myself to Kane the Kenwood...... 

 

A Bit On The Heavy Side..

Welcome to my Tuesday...

Going to try to start on the cake today....

The sunshine is back again..

Sexy Beast was having a rest today.

My kids walked over to see Granddad and deliver his newspaper.

I, on the other hand,

Had a date with Henry....

I enjoyed that little play.

More washing added to the line outside...

Had a light lunch ...

 While catching up with Bake Off series 6.

While at Job,

I was asked about the new book...

 "How's the new book going?"

 "Fine, nearly finished it," I replied.

 "I am looking forward to reading it," He said.

 "So am I, I have finished the book in my head, just got to write it down...!!!"I laughed.

While cleaning the toilets, someone said to me..

"I'm overweight.."

"Really?" I asked, looking puzzled.

"Going to have some take some off.."He replied.

"Oh,"I replied.

He then showed me the truck, he started to take stuff off the back...

Oh those double meanings get me into trouble sometimes...

After I finished, I enjoyed a lolly to cool down.

 

 Now for some chop chop for tea...

 Pasta twirls with:

 Garlic cheese sauce,

 Courgettes, 

Peppers,

 Spring onions,

 Can of tuna 

& 

More Garlic.... 

Before I started to water the plants...

We had a nice red finish to Tuesday.

 

 I had a new visitor in the garden.

 Back on the walking hump tomorrow..

Hopefully it won't be too hot....😎

 It's getting warm...

Best put on those big big sunglasses again.

 I nip into Asda to get some bits...

 Some nice coffee machines...

 Nice cake....

While I was in the queue in the self service.

I just had to sing along with a certain song that was playing on Asda radio...

Drops off my dad's newspaper.

Back home.

My youngest does a bit of baking...

Very nice.

While I'm turning into a overripe 🍅

at Job.

I notice times being noted after I have finished cleaning the toilets.

So reminds of a certain film...

 Lots of time and motion going on in the above film↑↑↑

Back home to cool down in the garden..

 

 

 

 The lolly helped!

Watched a bit more Bake Off series 6.

Now for chop chop...

Meat free Stir Fry...

 While the sun is still shining...

&

A bit cooler..

 I carry on singing to my plants while giving them a good soaking in water!...
