Highlights of 2023!

The truth is more important than the facts - Frank Lloyd Wright
Happy New Year everyone 🎇
Just a quick update on how 2023 went for me.
The Best of 2023
My older son became a Councillor and started at University.
I too, became a Councillor on two Parish Councils
The sequins made appearance....
My youngest son turned 18!
(Even better is I won't have to see my ex-plum any more \o/)
 We visited Blackpool twice \o/
We visited Bobby Ball's statue↓
We visited Les Dawson's grave↓
&
Keith Harris's grave↓
I came first in a Macmillan Bake Off in aid of my lovely friend who passed away in September.
The minion collection is growing...↓
Third Anniversary of cutting off both of my brothers \o/
The Worst of 2023
We stopped in two hotels and after staying there,we won't be going back again. :(
My lovely friend of 30 years passed away in September :'(
My hubby's brother cut contact with my hubby \o/
Their inheritance was paid out, no contact with hubby for two and half months until after Christmas. When hubby had got badly written message from his brother, asking where the £600 payment from a plan their dad took out for his  brother's kids was?
(Hubby didn't realise there was time limit!)
Hubby's brother had wanted a huge games machine that hubby  got rid off while clearing out their dad's house.
(Hubby's brother couldn't fit it in his car when he came down on the Sunday after their dad had died, when he grabbed the new 2 week old microwave, and coffee maker from their dad's house)
I hope Hubby's brother enjoys his inheritance!
At least my Hubby is paying for a nice new Gravestone for his  late dad and the 5 family members in the family plot. It should be ready in April just in time for his late dad's Birthday.
We went to see Madness in concert before Christmas.
Oh dear, they only played two old hits in 40 minutes. They played their new album, which we couldn't stand. After 40 minutes we walked out of the concert. At least the DJ before Madness came out played some great tunes!
Now to see in the New Year...

Good News About Our House!

Start off every day with a smile and get it over with - W.C.Fields
Welcome to my Good News Tuesday.
Hubby still was at work this week.
Breakfast and Brew.
I gave hubby a sloppy wet one 💋 before he went to work.
I went back to sleep for an hour!
Then it was time to rise.
Still wore the thermal vest.
Coffee time.
I heard from the garage on how much the bill was for Sexy Beast.
Eye-watering!!!!!
I will be taking it somewhere else next year.
I can't pick Sexy Beast up tonight as hubby has to see his Doctor about his bad cough which won't go away!
I got on catching up with the blog posts up to lunch.
Liquid lunch time.
I wrote another blog post.
Outside for some vitamin D.
My Housing Officer phoned to tell me:
"The Council is not selling the land now,
They are doing up next door neighbour's house."
I said,"I know already."
"Really, who told you?"
I told him, he sounded surprised!
So I will look forward to new neighbours!
Goes back in to start on the tea.
Nice to see the sun today \o/
Hubby comes back from seeing the Doctors.
He has a sloppy wet one 💋
They didn't give him anything and the cough will soon go on its own!
Tea is served.
Salmon Wellington.
Looks into today's newspaper:

Trying To Put It On.

Water, taken in moderation, cannot hurt anybody - Mark Twain
Welcome to the last day of January!
Another Birthday of mine next month 😁
We were up early to do the Heardles.

My results:
Breakfast with Brew.
Thermal vest with layers goes on.
Now to go out for some fresh air!
I gives hubby a sloppy wet one 💋
I have to a detour to get to work.
A lot quicker and avoids 2 sets of traffic lights!
I gets my winter coat, winter hats and gloves.
Goes and gets my newspaper.
I hope the lorry will have moved before I start my shift!
Swaps my newspaper for my big stick!
Now to turn on my lights...
Turns on my lights.
Let's go to work..🍭
Only three boings given out.
One man driving an old Rover put his hand up as he drove past!
BOING!
At least the sun is appearing.
I could be losing at least one layer in the afternoon!
Finished in one piece.
I did some top up shopping at the Co-op.
Then got some petrol.
Back home I went!
On goes the coffee machine.
Followed by the dishwasher.
Now for coffee!
I found a picture of my house, 5 months before I moved in!

I wrote one blog post up to lunch.
Liquid lunch time!
Now to get ready to do the afternoon shift.
On goes my winter coat, winter gloves and 2 winter hats.
I go and turn on my lights.
I return back to Sexy Beast.
Both friends are here for a little rabbit.
We hear a bang coming over where I normally stand for my job. We notice a van pull up with a panel missing from the side of the van.
The van driver stopped the van, and went and retrieved the missing panel. Then we watched him try to put it back on.
He had help from someone to try and fit it back.
One friend said goodbye and went to work.
My other friend and I walked around to the square to carry on watching to see if the missing panel was going to fixed on.
In the end he tied it on and taped it on.
Then he drove off.
We walked down to see if the Charity Shop was open. It wasn't.
Some fun I am going to have tomorrow↓
There  are surely going to be traffic lights?
The low lying sun is going to cause some problems again.
I said goodbye to my friend.
Afternoon shift!
Oh dear, cars not stopping on the otherside.
BOING x 3.
I gave out one loud BOING and the car driver turned round to see me walking across the road with my big stick!
Some of the schools are closing early because of the Teacher's Strike.
I will still be here!
Finished in one piece!
Now back home.
One large cup of brew.
Attempted to get one blog post finished by the time hubby came back.
The youngest son was going to the University of Birmingham for a Chemistry Lecture with his Second Year A-Level Chemistry class.
The older son was out with his friends.
Meal for two it is then.
We both enjoyed a salad!
Now to look into today's newspaper.
