That's What I Like A Good.....

Don't look at me in that tone of voice - Dorothy Parker
 Welcome to October! 🌊
After having a early night, I was up to hear
"The Sounds of the 60s" from the beginning.
I made the breakfast and left hubby's in the kitchen.
Breakfast and Brew time.

I need to get some bits from Sainsburys...
Private Eye's front cover↑
I got some flowers for my parents.
Now to say hi to them.
Back home.
Coffee machine goes on.
Unpacks the shopping.
Washing goes on the line.
Now for that coffee!
Hubby is still feeling rough from Covid.
So is older son who is suffering from it as well!
I am carrying on painting the front of the house tomorrow morning as it is still sunny!
Light lunch time.
Then I write yesterday's blog post.
Once that was done...
Let's open the cooking book..
Once that was made and put in the oven.
It's Heardle time.

Bargain Hunting!

If it's good, they'll stop making it - Herbert Block
Welcome to my Thursday Fun💙
Looking a bit gloomy out there!
It's Heardle time
Heardle 60s:
 My son's answers:
Time for some breakfast and brew!
I got dressed.
I gave hubby a sloppy wet one 💋 before he left for work.
I meanwhile had lots to keep me occupied!
Put the washing back out on the line.
I watered all the plants in the garden.
Then to move things about...
Now time to leave the house.
I dropped off younger son at his new job.
I carried onto Sainsburys.
Now to get some bits.
My shampoo I normal buy has gone down to £4.50, instead of £7.
I normally get it when it's on offer.
I got some more bits for the garden as they were in the sale.
Walked about the store a few times.
Now to pay for it all.
I waited for the woman in front to load up all things on the belt.
Never bothered to put a divider between her and my shopping. I stetched over and done it myself.
I overheard the conversation from the next till.
Mother to the till Operator:
"When are the kids going back to school again?"
The son replied to his mum:
"When are you going back to work mum?"
Silence. She smiled, put the final bag in her trolley and walked off with son in toe.
The Till Operator was talking to the two women in front of me, no problem.
Got to me, nothing.
My Nectar card wouldn't scan, he took it off me, scanned it, gave it back to me, I said "Thank you."
He then scanned everything, I put it in the bags.
Paid for the things and off I went.
Loaded up Sexy Beast and off home I go.
I put the coffee machine on.
Unloaded the shopping.
Now to add to the garden a bit more!
Butterflies added to the Pear tree.
Now for a much needed coffee!
After relaxing in the garden.
Time for a light lunch.
Now to write 3 blog posts.
Tea at 3 was needed.
Got the tea on the go once blog posts were done.
Hubby came home and had a sloppy wet one
💋
Tea is served.
Then kids went off to the Labour CLP meeting.
I looked into today's newspaper.
UK No.1 on this day in 1960:
Cliff Richard & The Shadows - Please Don't Tease
UK No.1 on this day in 1966:
Chris Farlowe - Out Of Time
UK No.1 on this day in 1979:
The Boomdown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays
We just relaxed in the garden.
The kids popped into Lidl for a bit of bargain hunting....
Hubby picked them up.
Younger son's receipt.
Total was 4p!
Back in for some sleep tea.
We watched last week's Hotel Inspector.
Now off to a warm bed with warm hands.
Friday Feeling is back tomorrow 🎈
&
It's my late dad's 81st Birthday as well 🎈

Jab Time!

One way to help the weather make up its mind is to hang out washing
Marcelene Cox
Welcome to my Saturday 👯
I got up, made a brew.
Unloaded and loaded up the dishwasher.
Enjoyed the brew in bed!
Breakfast soon followed.
Dressed.
Now out for some fresh air.
It's getting warmer \o/
We went past the site where the new Lidl is going to be...
I went to see my mum and dad.
The grave behind my parent's grave has now no flowers on it.
All the flowers from last week have gone.
I hope there will be some flowers going on in the next few weeks.
At least the sun is shining!
Hubby nipped into Sainsburys, while I sat in the car.
Back home.
Read the newspapers before lunch.
Good cover on the front of Private Eye magazine↓
Steve Harley (born Stephen Malcolm Ronald Nice) is an English singer and songwriter, best known as frontman of the rock group Cockney Rebel, with whom he still tours, albeit with frequent and significant personnel changes.
He is 70 years old 🎈
Lunchtime.
Hubby and son then was cutting back some branches of a tree.
Belated tea at 3.
Now its time to get my Covid jab.
Goes in 5 minutes before I'm due. There is about 5 medical centres in one here.
I sat on the chair marked 2.
Gets called in by my own Doctor, quick chat and has the jab and its done.
I wait in the waiting room for 15 mins.
Then I'm done.
Hubby collects my order from Dunelm.
It didn't help when we pulled up in the car park, a man driving his car, went past us talking on his mobile phone.
On the way out he went, past the Police Station, and still talking on his phone while driving!.
Back home with a sore arm.
Now one of my son's won't be cold at night now...
&
Throwover.
We caught up with 2 episodes of Judge Rinder.
Roast Pork Tea.
Now to watch another film.
Really good film.
Sleep Tea time.
Then off to enjoy that warm bed, to count down the hours until my Birthday!
