Oh Dear, How Sad!

Cheer up! The worst is yet to come! - Chase Johnson
Welcome to my Saturday 🚗
I listened to Sounds of 60s.
Then it was Breakfast and Brew.
I got dressed.
(I left the thermal vest off)
Got both kids up.
Loaded up shopping trolley into Sexy Beast.
I gets the newspaper.
Drops off son at work.
Then off to enjoy some car booty at Stratford Car Boot.
The whole field was full.
My son and I went around twice and got some bargains!
Then I drove back home.
Bargains I bought today↑↑↑
Now for some nibbles...
I went to pick son up from work.
Nipped to the Garden Centre for more compost.
Came back.
Now for another nibble.
While I was in the front garden, potting some plants. Someone handed in next door's neighbour's son's keys as he left them in his Land Rover.
As hubby has got Covid, I went round to hand them in.
Went past their old television...↓
I gave my neighbour the keys. Made him a coffee.
I told him about hubby's dad passing away.
His response was: "Oh well, nevermind."
I left soon afterwards.
Now to carry on potting some plants.
Finished for now.
Still got more to do tomorrow.
Tea time.
Yum!

Living The High Life!

There are three things I've to do: opera, rodeo, and porno
- Bea Arthur
Welcome to the Friday Feeling 🎈
Nice warm hug and 💋 to start the Friday.
Breakfast.
Dressed.
Hubby has a day off work...
But he won't be living the high life with me,
He is cleaning his dad's kitchen, bathroom and living room.
He goes and gets the newspaper....
I put on the kettle...
First coffee of the day.
Then hubby goes off to collect some cleaning things from Dunelm then onto his dad's house.
I meanwhile got down to write yesterday's blog post.
My younger son's new matress arrived for his bed↓↓
They drag the old mattress outside in the back garden.
I will have to pay the Council £18 to take it away next week....
The sun might be out,
but it ain't half cold in this house!
I had to drop off son at his job.
(For doing all this running about, he was paying for the coffee!)
Out comes the big ones..
Gets 1 mocha, and 2 hot chocolates.
I drop off son and comes back home.
Only for the lid of my mocha to come off,
The mocha leaks into the bag,
I just get the bag out of the car before it pours out everywhere out of the car!
Just enough to drink...↓
Once I tied the pom poms I made yesterday to my pom pom wreath.
I got down to make some more.
I now have another job interview tomorrow \o/
Tea at 3.
I had to drop off younger son to help with delivering leaflets..
Big big sunglasses went on again..
It didn't help a BMW nearly took out my driver's side after trying to pull out of a side road.
Didn't I half give him a look for that!
Trying to find somewhere to park to drop my son off safely was another ball ache!
Waited, and waited for a parking space...
Finally got one!
Back home...
Hubby has spent 8 hours cleaning his dad's house.....
(It took me 6 hours to clean my dad's house when he was alive, and all I got off my dad was:
"You haven't hoovered the stairs!"
Which I replied to:"What did your last slave die of? Oh yes, she is six foot under!")
Hubby was getting takeaway Indian meals for us on the way home...
While I was waiting,
I looked in today's newspaper:
Sir Peter  Ustinov was an English actor, writer, and filmmaker. He was a fixture on television talk shows and lecture circuits for much of his career. An intellectual and diplomat, he held various academic posts and served as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF and president of the World Federalist Movement.
Ustinov was the winner of numerous awards during his life, including two Academy Awards for Best Supporting Actor, Emmy Awards, Golden Globes, and BAFTA Awards for acting, and a Grammy Award for best recording for children, as well as the recipient of governmental honours from, amongst others, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany. He also displayed a unique cultural versatility which frequently earned him the accolade of a Renaissance man. Miklós Rózsa, composer of the music for Quo Vadis and of numerous concert works, dedicated his "String Quartet No. 1, Op. 22" (1950) to Ustinov

Bobby Vinton  is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. As a teen idol, he became known as 'The Polish Prince', as his music paid tribute to his Polish heritage. One of his most popular songs is "Blue Velvet" (a cover of the 1951 song recorded by Tony Bennett) which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963 and No. 2 in the UK in 1990.
He is 86 years old.
Mary  O'Brien OBE, professionally known as Dusty Springfield, was a British singer and record producer whose career extended from the late 1950s to the 1990s. With her distinctive mezzo-soprano sound, she was a significant singer of blue-eyed soul, pop and dramatic ballads, with French chanson, country and jazz also in her repertoire. During her 1960s peak she ranked among the most successful British female performers on both sides of the Atlantic and her image – marked by a peroxide blonde bouffant/beehive hairstyle, heavy makeup (thick black eyeliner and eye shadow) and evening gowns, as well as stylised, gestural performances – made her an icon of the Swinging Sixties. She is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the UK Music Hall of Fame. International polls have cited Springfield as one of the finest female popular singers of all time.
