Oh Yeah, I Am Trained To Use The Stick!

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well - Proverb
Welcome to my Hump Of the Week 🐫
Warm hug with brew.
Breakfast.
Opens the curtains...
Sunshine is coming back \o/
Dressed.
Gives hubby a sloppy wet 💋 before I leave.
It was still a bit cold to put the summer coat back on.
The big big sunglasses went back on.
I put on my lights on.
Now for the fun to start...🍭
Car drivers were going under my stick once it was raised up.
As soon as I dropped it down, they soon stopped.
The otherside of the road just as bad!
As least the sun is out!
I finished in one piece.
I chatting to a man who waves at me every morning.
His son got killed down Alcester Rd, On New Years's Eve in the late 1980's
(The other main road, which is far more busy than the road I do my lollypop job).
He was trying to cross the road, when he was hit at 70 m.p.h by a stolen black Ford Escort Xr3i.
The stolen car was later found burnt out.
He died after 11 days in hospital.
The Police got a lucky break, when they stopped another stolen black Ford Escort Xr3i. They got one of four teenagers that was in the car.
(The other 3 ran off)
The teenager admitted being in the car (In hit and run), and named the other 3 teenagers.
The driver of the car only got 2 and 1/2 years for killing the man in the hit and run.
That is why there is a Pedestrian Refuge Island there now.
I use my Pedestrian Refuge Island to cross people over.
I learnt it was put there as someone was killed crossing over the road!
After the man stopped talking,
I said his late son had the same first name as my husband, and his late wife shared my first name too.
I said if he ever wants to have a chat, he knows where I am.
Then off to the Co-op to get some supplies!
Then picked up my newspaper and my neighbour's magazine.
Back home.
I puts on the coffee machine.
Then I go around to see my neighbour with his magazine.
Has chat for a half an hour.
I got back and my coffee was ready!
My large sewing bag arrived!
The embroidery machine is in the poker dot bag.
Overlocker machine is in the grey bag.
The red and blue bag holds my sewing machine.
What is so strange, I have no power lead for the overlocker, and still can't find the power lead that came with the sewing machine either!
(Good job I bought a replacement one!)
I ran out of time to write yesterday's blog post and hop onto my spin bike either :(
Lunchtime arrives....
At last the sun comes out!
On goes my summer coat!
I put on my lights, and I chat with my two friends before I start my shift!
Now for the fun to start....🍭
Car drivers were again not stopping until I lowered my stick.
I had a man on my right watchng what I was doing.
One parent I crossed over, said to me..
"What a day I have had!"
"Time for a massage,"I replied to him
"Fat chance of that happening!" He laughed.
One car driver found his brakes just in time after I lowered my stick.
The passenger in the car was banging her gums when she went past.
The man that was watching me, asked me:
"Is that in your training? To do that with your stick?"
"Yes, and my four moves are in the Highway Code!" I replied.
He didn't answer that to that, and walked off.
I finished in one piece.
Now to get back home.
I put the tea in the oven.
Now to get down and write yesterday's blog post.
Hubby came back and a warm hug and a sloppy wet 😘.
Tea was served.
Once blog post was published.
Now to look into today's newspaper.

Getting The Chance To......

If you can't annoy sombody, there's little point in writing - Kingsley Amis
Welcome to my Tuesday 👉
I was glad of a warm hug with brew,
as I was still tried from yesterday!
Breakfast.
Dressed.
I got the kids up for school.
Gave eveyone their sloppy wet 💋💋💋 from me before I left the house.
Big big sunglasses back on again.
The covid-19 vaccine jabs were being given out in the hall, I still parked in the car park.
(I have permission while I do my Lollipop job)
I took off two layers before putting on my winter coat.
The sun was back out.
I had some cars having to break sharply for me on the other side of the road!
I survived!
I popped in on the way home to pick up the newspaper.
I was asked "If I was going for a interview?"
(As I was wearing my red summer dress.)
"No, it is easy to wear and I won't get too hot wearing my winter lollipop coat, but as it's hot this afternoon, I might have to wear hardly nothing under my summer coat!" I replied.
They all laughed to that!
Back home
Coffee first...
Now to catch up with the blog...
Someone phoned about a job I went for.
This is a 8 hour cleaning job on Sundays
(6.30 -2.30pm)
I asked if you get a dinner break in it,
He will phone me back next week.
I wrote and published Sunday and Monday.
(I will write Saturday's in the next few days)
Just in time for lunch!
Once I had finished lunch.
I put the tea in the oven for later.
The sun is still shining :)
I left early to try and park in the Public Car Park, only to find it full!
I parked in the other car park.
(Where I parked in this morning)
The summer coat came out again :)
I was sat on the bench before I started.
I chatted to some of the parents.
One parent said hi to me, I said hi back.
While doing my Lollipop job, the same parent didn't want to cross with me, instead she dragged her child over further up the road in front of moving traffic!
When I finished and going back to my car, the children in red uniform were suddenly coming out of school......
Back home to enjoy a lovely ice-cream
&
Quick look in the newspaper
Leslie  Phillips CBE  is an English actor. He achieved prominence in the 1950s, often playing smooth, upper-class comic roles utilising his "Ding Dong" and "He-llo" catchphrases. He appeared in the Carry On and Doctor in the House film series as well as the long-running BBC radio comedy series The Navy Lark. In his later career, Phillips took on dramatic roles including providing the voice for the Sorting Hat in the Harry Potter films.
He is 97 years old 🎈
Alfred Hawthorne "Benny" Hill  was an English comedian, actor, singer and writer, best remembered for his television programme The Benny Hill Show, an amalgam of slapstick, burlesque, and double entendre in a format that included live comedy and filmed segments, with Hill at the focus of almost every segment.
Hill was a prominent figure in British culture for nearly four decades. His show proved to be one of the great success stories of television comedy and was among the most-watched programmes in the UK, with the audience peaking at more than 21 million in 1971. The Benny Hill Show was also exported to half the countries around the world. In 2006, Hill was voted by the British public number 17 in ITV‘s poll of TV's 50 Greatest Stars.
He sadly died aged 68 in 1992.
Now off to work..
(Hoping it's a bit better than yesterday!)
On the way, I get stuck behind a 2002 green Audi going 20 m.p.h in a 50 speed limit zone
There suddenly developed a convoy behind me.
There was no way to overtake it, so for a short while we all had to do 20 m.p.h!
I gets in a bit early to sort out my cleaning trolley.
I make sure I have enough cloths, bin bags, so I don't have to keep going to the Cleaner's Cupboard.
I had people look at the clock when I signed in.
"Just sorting out my trolley,"I replied.
They asked "Why I walked from the basement to the first floor? And didn't use the lift..."
"I do use the lift, but I fancied the walk!"I replied.
It looks like the Supervisor isn't in today.
I thought I might be able to borrow her vacuum cleaner to do some hoovering....
No Chance!
Someone was covering her shift and the vacuum was being used!
(I was told I was getting another vacuum on Thursday,
Nothing on whether I was was being paid for working over yesterday!)
As I was cleaning the handrail from the top floor to the basement, I was told I was the first to be seen do it as no one else did it!
I cleaned all the toilets on 3 floors. I made time to do the hoovering when I get vacuum.
For the third time, I was told the stairs don't need to be hoovered everyday.....!
It would be nice to get a chance to hoover something!
No sun going down tonight!
No late finish tonight.
Gets home in the daylight!
The blue tarbards are due to be delivered tomorrow. I doubt I will get the money back for buying them....:(
I have a nice chicken tea.
I caught up with the days goings on with hubby.
I was getting tired at this point.
I enjoyed my sleep tea in bed.
The thermal vest might have to stay on tomorrow, as it is 10c cooler tomorrow...
No sweaty hump to worry about 🐫

Breakfast.
I got dressed, as hubby is still not well.

Back home.
Nice coffee to warm up with.
Hubby phones up his Doctors about his High Temperature.
They advise him to have a Covid Test.
While he is booking his test online to go to the near-by walk in centre.
His boss had left a "nice" message on his phone, on why he hasn't come into work, and not to think about working from home and get into the office now!
I phoned up my doctors about my 6 week cough I have got.
The Doctor phoned me back and advised me to have Covid Test.
I went on-line to book a test at the nearby walk in centre.
Now out of the house.
Now to go for Test...
We did the tests.
Hopefully hear the result tomorrow
Once we get back home,
Hubby goes back to bed as he is feeling not very well.
