Pigs In Mud!!

It's finally arrived!
Last day of school and work for me \o/
My "Pigs in Mud" cake was took up to the Town Hall
For the "Redditch Bake Off" competition.

Ready to be judged.
Later on,
We went back to take part in the Mayor's Quiz Night.
Our team name was "Handcuffs & Babyoil"
There was still some of my cake actually left after the bake sale...
(£150 was raised in the Bake Sale for  Charity)
One of my son's finished it off during the quiz.
My film and music knowledge saved us from getting the wooden spoon!
Now to enjoy the flowers my hubby bought me!

Pat A Cake.....

Welcome to Hump Of the Week.
We have had plenty of sunshine
That's helped drying of the washing...
Even the massive sunglasses came out!
After catching up on some sleep after Job 2
I may be able to keep awake to watch The Great British Bake Off
That might get me in the mood to do some baking tomorrow.....

More Fruit Than Nut

I have had my own Great British Bake Off in my own kitchen.
First up I made a chocolate sponge with Kenny the Kenwood.
Next I made some lemon shortbread.
Now to attack a bag of bramley apples.
I defrosted a 2lb of blackberries,
Out came the jam pan.
2lb of apples, 2lb of blackberries, sugar and lemon juice....
2 hours later,
4 jars full of apple and blackberry jam!
Decorated the chocolate cake with left over Quality Street chocolates...
Just to remind hubby how many years that ball and chain has been attached to his ankle!

Saying It With Flowers

I spent the early hours unable to sleep.
So I caught up on loads of television programmes.
Series 3 of Bake Off, I love 1971 etc.
Hubby surprised me with flowers!
Sad news a great favourite from The Dukes Of Hazzard has died.
James Best played the Sheriff in the TV Series.

Hook,Line & Flower!

While watching The Great British Bake Off,
My fingers were itching to do something.
So out came the crochet hook and wool.
Amazing what I can do!
Now it's attached to my coat!
