Happy VE Day!

VE Day
 I had a nice cup of tea and a warm hug.
Today 7 years ago, my mum passed away.
It was so unexpected :(
I will be taking more flowers up to her grave at the weekend.
I sent the kids to fetch the newspaper.
The views of the garden↓
 
 We did the 2 minute silence at 11am
 Coffees and nibbles↓
 
 Time to read the newspaper↓
 
  Plenty of reading to catch up with↓
 In the shade↓
 Lunch time↓
 Cake Fail↓
 After lots of reading.
It's tea at 3pm↓
 The bunting is everywhere↓
 
 
 
 Homemade burgers for tea↓
 We watch one episode of:
Then we watched Top of the Pops from 1989.
A few of the songs were so bad....
However there was a least one great song on there...
 
 There was a great number 1 for that week↓
 We just caught the end of Van Der Valk..
 
Followed by a great film,
  I learnt that a dear friend of over 27 years, had died on Tuesday. I used his porch as a place for a bag drop when I worked for Royal Mail.He was such a great friend.Coffee and chat was always there. He will be missed so much.
Now to use up the last of the Friday Feeling.

Finally Getting Ready For Xmas!

My mother-in-law has come round to our house at Christmas seven years running.This year we're having a change.We're going to let her in - Les Dawson.

The alarm went off for the final time...
I had a nice cup of tea and hug in bed..
  I gave hubby a big 💋 before he left the house.
I got up to go for a quick ride...
 I bought two buckets from B&Q↑
It is still cold↓
 I had quick look in the newspaper↓
 Cynthia Payne, English brothel madam,would have been 87 years old🎈
There are two films that are loosely based on her life, both released in 1987: Wish You Were Here, about her adolescence, with Emily Lloyd in the lead role, and Personal Services, about her adult life, starring Julie Walters. 
 She died aged 82 in 2015
Ricky Martin is a Puerto Rican singer, actor and author who is widely regarded as the "King of Latin Pop" is 48 years old 🎈
   I enjoyed a quick coffee↓
 Off to work...with some great music↓
I gets back to enjoy a lovely coffee↓
 light lunch↓
I went and wrapped all the presents ready for tomorrow...
Time for Kenny to come out and play↓
 While the cake was baking.
I caught up on the blog.
We watched a great film..
 Finished decorating the Christmas Cake↓
We finally defrosted the turkey↓
 Set the alarm for tomorrow to turn on the oven.....

Not Long To Go...

The alarm went off...
Hubby was going into work...
I kissed him goodbye 💋
I got up the kids,
As we are going to up town early.
 
 The sun coming up↓
 The some of the shops we visited:
Poundstretchers,
Superdrug,
The Works,
Nipped into Costa Coffee↓
 I bought a wreath for my mum's grave.
Wilkinsons,
Whsmith.
Walked back to my Sexy Beast.
Then I went round to see my friend to give her, a Xmas card.
 I wished her a good Christmas.
Back home to pick up Willow the Gerbil.
He had a visit to the vets
 Will have to keep a eye on the tumour.
Hubby comes back from work.
Then out we go for the wreath for my mum's grave.

 Back home to hang something on the Christmas Tree...↓
 I scanned the newspaper for Birthdays:
 Cynthia Payne: English brothel madam,
would have been 86 years.
(She died in 2015 aged 82)
There has been two films based on her life...
 Ricky Martin (Enrique "Ricky" Martín Morales): Singer & Actor is 47 years old.
Jack Klugman: American actor (Oscar-Odd Couple, Quincy, Goodbye Columbus), died aged 90 in 2012

Broke open the new DVD, I bought on Saturday.
It didnt help I fell asleep after they found the body....
I climbed into bed at 1am.....
