Four Seasons In One Day!

If you think it's difficult to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball - Jack Lemmon
Welcome to my Hump of the Week 🐫
Nice warm hug followed by,
Warm brew and breakfast.
A lot of rain was falling outside...
Time for those sexy lumo trousers to wear!
I gives hubby a sloppy wet 😘 before I leave.
All the waterproofs on.
I turns on lights and goes back to stand by Sexy Beast to avoid the heavy rain!
Now for the fun to start...🍭
Some car drivers were going to fast in the rain.
Plenty of cars braking last minute when my stick gets put out.
It stopped raining half way during my shift.
I was getting well warm, even had to take off my gloves!
The blue 21 plate mini was no where to be seen!
Finished in one piece.
Now to go and pick up some bits!
First from Screw Fix,
Picks up newspaper and neighbour's magazine.
Final stop was Argos, to pick up some things in the sale...
Back home.
Puts on the coffee machine.
Tidies up the back garden.
Insulates all the pipes that are outside.
Adds a grid topper to the drain.
Next up was to sort out the new curtains for the little windows in the living and our bedroom windows.
I looked  high and low for some curtain tape..
All through my craft crap...
Finally found some!
A much needed coffee is needed!
It was raining, thundering, lighting,outside.
As the curtains I bought are Eyelet and are changing them.
Plus adding another pair of curtains to the back of them, instead of adding curtain backing.
Pinned the curtain tape to the curtains.
By the time I had finished that,it was lunchtime!
I could see blue skies outside now!
Now for round 2...
A little bit of Manfred to put me in a good mood..
The hall was closed where I normally park.
Parked in another car park.
I went and put on my lights.
Then I sat down on the bench to enjoy the sun's rays...
One friend was talking to another parent.
I started my shift in the sunshine.
Some car drivers decided they wasn't stopping no matter.
Some had the BOINGs when they went under the stick.
My other friend appeared is a CD he bought yesterday..
Maroon 5 - Songs about Jane.
It has a Level 42 Cd inside it.
He was taking it back to the Charity Shop.
I finished in one piece.
Him and me walked back to my Sexy Beast.
We had a good rabbit until 4.20!!!
I said goodbye to him, as he walked back to his car, then onwards to the Charity Shop.
I drove past him, and waved as he was walking down to the Charity Shop. When I went past it, it closed at 4pm!
More Manfred to sing along with....
Back home.
I got the blue curtains down from the Dining Room Window. Put some longer and brighter ones up.
I needed help getting down the net curtains down. Younger son got them down for me.
Then the new ones went up.
While he was putting up the net curtains, the 12 year old plastic curtain rail came off and snapped!
Great!
Going to be fun putting up another curtain rail.
It took hubby nearly all day to put the one above the front door, as the walls are so solid, he broke 3 drill bits!
Another job to do at the weekend!
I put up the new bathroom curtains.
They too are eyelet curtains.
They are being changed as well.
Just had to order more curtain tape as didn't have enough!
Hubby came home with tea.
Then I dropped him off at the Palace Theatre to watch Chubby Brown.
I got home to write yesterday's blog post.
Then to catch up today's newspaper.
The song at number 6, was one of the songs played at my late dad's funeral last year.
Number 1 is Gerry and the Pacemakers and
"You'll Never Walk Along"

Kathy Kirby (born Catherine Ethel O'Rourke) was an English singer, reportedly the highest-paid female singer of her generation. She is best known for her cover version of Doris Day's "Secret Love" and for representing the United Kingdom in the 1965 Eurovision Song Contest where she finished in second place. Her physical appearance often drew comparisons with Marilyn Monroe. Her popularity peaked in the 1960s, when she was one of the best-known and most-recognised personalities in British show business.
She would have been 83 years old 🎈
She died aged 72 in 2011.
Tom  Petty was an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, and actor. He was the lead vocalist and guitarist of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, formed in 1976. He previously led the band Mudcrutch, and was also a member of the late 1980s supergroup the Traveling Wilburys.
He would have been 71 years old 🎈

William Scott "Jack" Elam  was an American film and television actor best known for his numerous roles as villains in Western films, and later in his career, comedies (sometimes spoofing his villainous image). His most distinguishing physical quality was his misaligned eye. Before his career in acting, he took several jobs in finance and served two years in the United States Navy during World War II.
Elam performed in 73 movies and in at least 41 television series. Some of his more memorable roles are in Once Upon a Time in the West, High Noon, Support Your Local Sheriff!, and on the series The Twilight Zone and Gunsmoke.
He died on this day in 2003 aged 83
I goes and picks up hubby from the Chubby Brown concert.
He hadn't laughed so much in years.
Sleep Tea Time.
Manfred Mann is 81 years old tomorrow 🎈
Let's hope the sun will be back tomorrow!

At Least It Wasn't The Finger!

- George Carlin

Now for the fun to start ...🍭
I have full waterproofs on, and it stops raining!
Great, nice to get sweaty!
Gloves gets took off and open the winter coat abit.
Some car drivers don't understand the word STOP on my stick.
My shift was getting better until this happened.
I had stopped a 21 reg plate blue mini to cross a parent back over, when I glanced over at the woman driver of the mini and she mouthed
"ARSEHOLE!" to me!
I am just trying to do my job!
It's a pity I couldn't launch my lollipop stick like a javelin to her back window....
At least it wasn't the finger she gave me!
Finished in one piece.
I gets the newspaper on the way home.
I puts on the coffee machine.
Now to get yesterday's blog post out of the way.
Has two strong coffees while writing it!
Trying to get answers on where my parcel was delivered last week and am I going to get it?
Pulling teeth over this.
Trying to give Fed-Ex more time to collect it I was told!
After that fun, it was time for lunch!
I looked at the weather reports.
50% of rain.
I am going comando...
(No lumo trousers)
Now for the afternoon bit...
A little bit of Manfred Mann...
I put on my boots just in it case it does rain.
(I don't want wet feet!)
I puts on my lights.
Chats with one friend until I start my shift.
Just as I am starting, I stick my lollypop stick out to stop a grey Land Rover, My stick was inches away from the tap and crack of her windscreen!
A blue 21 plate blue mini drove past me twice, but it wasn't the same woman from this morning.
My other friend I talk to, came to see me with a handful of CDs from the Charity Shop.
Dire Straits - Brothers in Arms
Dreamboats and Petticoats 3
The Killers - Hot Fuss
Maroon 5 - Songs about Jane
The Best of Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music
I told him, I hope he left me some CDs to get.
He laughed and said they have more DVDs in.
I said goodbye to my friend and hope to see him tomorrow...
Finished in one piece.
Time to chill to Manfred Mann...
Back home.
Now to start on the Sewing Machine.
I made one draught excluder.
Then I had to put the tea on.
Hubby a sloppy wet 💋 when he came home.
Hubby booked himself a ticket to watch Chubby Brown at the Palace Theatre tomorrow night.
I got some things in the sale at Argos.
Pick up them tomorrow as well as bits from Screw Fix.
Quick look into Today's newspaper.
Jeannie C. Riley (born Jeanne Carolyn Stephenson) is an American country music and gospel singer. She is best known for her 1968 country and pop hit "Harper Valley PTA", which missed by one week simultaneously becoming the Billboard Country and Pop number-one hit.

She is 76 years old 🎈
Spencer Davis (born Spencer David Nelson Davies; ) was a Welsh singer and musician. He founded The Spencer Davis Group, a band that had several hits in the 1960s including "Keep On Running", "Gimme Some Lovin'", and "I'm a Man", all sung by Steve Winwood. Nice Firm Grip!

The only flair is in her nostrils - Pauline Kael
Welcome aboard my Wobbly Work Wheel 🎡
Nice warm hug to start Monday off.
Breakfast with a brew.
Dressed.
It is still dark outside....
I think the rain is going to hold off this morning.
Gives hubby a sloppy wet 😘 before I leave.
I didn't park where I normally park, as the Hall is giving out Covid Boosters.
I put on my Summer coat but with 4 layers of clothing.
I turned on my lights.
Now for the fun to start...🍭
At least the weather stopped dry.
Some car didn't understand the Stop on my stick and totally ignored it!!!
Too much early Monday Feeling 🎈
Finished in one piece.
I gets the newspaper on the way home.
Puts on the coffee machine.
I missed a call from the Council.
I tried to phone back.
Number 5 in the queue,
Waiting time is over an hour....
Number 4...
Waiting queue is over an hour
Number 3 ...
Waiting queue is 35 minutes....
Number 2 ..
Waiting queue is 35 minutes...
Finally number 1
When the phone was answered, I gave a good morning...
She was shocked on the other end of the phone
(Not used to people being happy on a Monday)
I have to wait for a phone call back when the Plumber is coming around....
As far as the holes in the roof.
(I phoned up 4 weeks ago about it)
It's with the contractor now.
"I have buckets ready for when the weather changes,"...I told her.
I googled to see the reasons about water appearing under the washing machine.
Whether the cost of repair is going to be the same as buying another one.
My late dad said:"When it starts shelling out money on it, time to replace it, throwing good money after bad!"
I think he meant me shelling money out on Larry the Land Rover....
Still no sign of the Plumber, hubby got back on to the council.
Knock at door, the Plumber is here!
"I didn't know there were houses down here!"He said.
"If I had a £1 for everyone saying that, I wouldn't be living here!" I replied.
He wanted me to go on all fours to pull on the waste pipe under the sink.
I have a good nice firm grip, so I opted to hold on the pipe outside instead.
No chews marks on the pipe.
The Plumber says,"The problem is the washing machine!"
At least the rat didn't chew the waste pipe!
I thanked him for coming.
(Getting a quick getaway from my talking!)
Next problem to get in touch with the firm about my possible refund as the parcel that Fed-Ex delivered elsewhere!
As soon as it classed as missing, they will send out a replacement order!
My Amazon order that was unable to be delivered yesterday (two Sundays running)
was delivered....!
Lunchtime!
It's raining quite abit.
Time for those sexy lumo trousers to be worn!
Time for a bit of Manfred Mann..
While I got into my winter coat, one of my friends appeared, we had a quick chat, as he hadn't brought his coat, and his passenger window on his car was left open.
I said goodbye to him, and went to put my lights on in the rain!
I chattered with my other friend in the rain until I started my afternoon shift.
I had 3 layers under my winter coat,
I was well warm!
One bronze car didn't like being kept waiting and gave some nasty hand gestures to me when they went past.
I just shot them a look!
One car nearly had the windscreen tapped and cracked, there was only cms away away when she drove under it!
I was glad to finish in one piece.
All nice and sweaty!
Back to more singing with Manfred Mann!
Back home.
Now to try and write Saturday and Sunday blog posts.....
Hubby went to see his dad.
His dad's hand had swollen up.
I called it the Kenny Everett hand...
And his dad's foot swollen up as well.
His dad is refusing to phone the doctors.
I am not saying nothing, no one listens as normal if I did!
Meat free Stir Fry Time.
I finally got Saturday's blog post wrote by the time hubby came back from his snooker match.
He won his singles and doubles matches.
However his team lost 3-2.
Sleep Tea time.
Let's hope this week can't get any worst!
