Hunting Down Some Batteries...!

Light lunch time...
Now for a little ride out in Sexy Beast.
Off to see my parents first.
I had to pick up younger son from Bromsgrove as he missed his bus. The next one would have been 6pm.
Before I pick him up, I had a look in the near-by Waitrose for some reduced food!
Coffee and a reduced nibble!
Picks up younger son.
Back home.
I leave hubby to bring in the washing in off the line.
I have some cooking to do↓
Once made, put them in the oven.
I write yesterday's blog post in the meantime.
The food is ready!
I added some Black Garlic Paste before it went in the oven.
Served it up with vegetables!
Yum!

Escaping......That Noise!

The person who knows how to laugh at himself will never cease to be amused - Russ Dudley.
Welcome to my Hump of the Week ๐Ÿซ
Nice hug to start Hump Day with ๐Ÿซ
Brew with Breakfast.
Thermal vest goes on.
Dressed.
Younger son had finished another puzzle \o/
He is starting another one after breakfast.
Now out for another road trip...
Now to start visiting some Charity Shops.
Pub had caught fire last year.
It was left to the last two Charity Shops when we found some things we needed.
We put the shopping trolley in the car and went to pick up some bits from Waitrose.
I used the scanner to keep an eye on what I was spending.
Went to scan it out, and had to be checked on what I bought.
Unloaded it all at the next available Cashier.
Only to be told, I only had to be checked for 5 items at the self service.
I replied to that gem was:
"Last time I was checked, the whole lot had to be rescanned...."
"That's been changed now,"I was told.
Just about to pay for it all, and my card wasn't being accepted by the card reader!
Quick wipe and the computer said "YES!"
I need a drink after that!
Now back home to unpack all the shopping.
But first the new soup maker goes on.
Bargains.
Hubby now has a big and small Hulk guarding his Rum!
Now for the homemade soup.
Then I constructed a little film about Coffee and Rum...
It didn't take too long to do.
Speaking about Coffee....
It's time for one...
My perfume arrived :)
I wrote yesterday's blog post.
Now to get the tea ready.
Put on a good film to watch.
Nice easy Veggie Tea.
Someone put their 1979 Misty annual on Twitter.
She was commenting on how much people were selling copies of it.
I have 7 Misty Annuals and missing 1979.
Next a good film starts at 9pm.
All Because The Lady Loves Milk Tray↓
Quick read of today's newspaper.
USA No.1 on this day in 1973:
Jim Croce - Time In A Bottle
UK No.1 on this day in 1987:
Pet Shop Boys - Always On My Mind
Sleep Tea Time.
As we were getting ready for bed, my ear plugs had disappeared.
I'm not putting up with loud snoring no way!
I went back downstairs to sleep on the sofa instead...
Night all

Finally I Can Use It Again!

If you can't take the heat, don't tickle the dragon - Scott Fahlman
Welcome to my Saturday ๐Ÿ
Nice hug with brew.
We listened to last hour of "Sounds of the 60s"
Breakfast.
Dressed.
I was hoping to go to Droitwich Lions and give in my late dad's glasses.
(They recycle them)
One son was up to be dropped off at work, the other son wouldn't get out of bed on time.
Hubby was staying at home to wait for the Washing Machine Engineer....
Off we go...
Drops off son, and onto Homebase I go.
Gets some bits I need.
Back home.
Unpacks car.
Coffee time.
Son still wants to go to the Droitwich Lions.
Collects bag of glasses.
Off to Droitwich we go.
Parks opposite Waitrose.
Goes over to see the Droitwich Lions.
They were glad off the glasses.
My son bought some maps of some countries.
I bought a jar of marmalade.
Then off to look in some Charity Shops...
We dropped the trolley back to the car.
Now to get some bits from Waitrose.
There were some nice cars parked outside.
Done a bit of shopping, now for trip home via Hanbury.
I picked up the other son from his job.
The Washing Machine Engineer arrived at my house the same time I got home.
He looked under the sink, the washing machine pipe was missing two washers!
He done the job in five minutes!
Now I can use my washing machine!
While I was away, hubby had been busy.
He went on the Spin bike for 40 minutes, and was watching Squid Games.
He swept up the leaves which covered the path,
He cut the lawn too :)
Now for another trip out...
I heard one of my favourite Christmas songs for the first time this Christmas period...
Gets some Christmas presents for our kids while we were there.
There was a nice E reg VW Polo in the car park.
Back home to hide the pressies.
Once we had tea.
Time to watch episode 3 of Season 3 of Narcos: Mexico.
Quick look into today's newspaper.
Montserrat  Caballรฉ  was a Spanish operatic soprano. She sang a wide variety of roles, but is best known as an exponent of the works of Verdi and of the bel canto repertoire, notably the works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti. She was noticed internationally when she stepped in for a performance of Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia at Carnegie Hall in 1965, and then appeared at leading opera houses. Her voice was described as pure but powerful, with superb control of vocal shadings and exquisite pianissimo.
Caballรฉ became popular to non-classical music audiences in 1987, when she recorded, at the request of the International Olympic Committee, "Barcelona", a duet with Freddie Mercury, which became an official theme song for the 1992 Olympic Games. She received several international awards and also Grammy Awards for a number of her recordings.
She died on this day aged 85 in 2018.
Sleep Tea time.
We have already watched 8 episodes and only 2 left to watch tomorrow!
Off to walk about 4 miles tomorrow!
