Stratford, Here We Come!

If I were two-faced, would I be wearing this one? - Abraham Lincoln
Welcome to my roadtrip Tuesday 🚗
Breakfast and Brew.
Just after 8am, I had a phone call from the Councl Gas Department saying sorry for sending out the letter yesterday, telling me that are taking me to court to get access to my house to do a gas check.
(Even though they did the gas check last Wednesday!)
Great start for the day!
Gets dressed.
Now to get out of the house...
First stop was to do my Councillor duties of checking the Recreation Ground.
No newspaper at the local shop.
(It was the same last Tuesday)
Oh dear.
Files my paperwork.
Now onwards to Stratford upon Avon.
The parking charges had gone up today.
£5.50 for 4 hours.
Lots of things in the Charity Shops.
Really good cup in one shop.
More walking and looking in shops.
Cream teas time!
Yum!
Then off to more walking about.
While we were chatting to the nice Parking Attendant, a car mounted the pavement and nearly took us out!
I told the passenger who got out of the car,
"Thanks for trying to take us out!"
She grumbled sorry and crossed the road.
Said goodbye to our friend and carried onto the next Charity Shop.
That is so nice!
Nice hat, nice price.....£350..
We had look at the market.
Looked at the river.
We had a few more Charity Shops to visit.
Got more bargains.
We ate our lunch in the car.
Then off to the Recycle Centre at Stratford Household site.
Plenty of bargains I got from there too.
On the way back, the Repairs department phoned me to say, the Pointing will be done in November, and someone is coming to look at the windows and doors. Fingers crossed we can have new windows soon....
Back home to see a large van parked over the drive.
The Council is finishing off clearing next door's house.
(The stuff left out by the back door was starting to smell)
Unpacked all the bargains we got.
Hubby strimmed the grass out the front.
I put in tonight's tea.
The men left after clearing everything out of next door's house.
The cooker and washing machine has finally gone!
Tea is ready.
Now to watch one of the Dvds we bought today.
Sleep Tea Time.
Let's hope for a sunny hump day tomorrow 🐫

Trying To Keep Moving!

A motorist is a person, after seeing a serious wreck, drives carefully for several blocks - Jane Pickens
Welcome to my Hump of the Week 🐫
Heardle Time.
Heardle 60s:
My answers:
Brew with Breakfast.
Dressed.
Now to get out early....
I gives hubby a sloppy wet one 😘
I have to go the long way round for the time beginning. It doesn't help other car drivers leaving it too late to get in the correct lane!
Finally got to work...
On goes the Winter coat, Summer Hat, and big big sunglasses...
I go and get the newspaper.
Now to fetch my big stick.
A man walked up to me to say sorry for going under my big stick yesterday.
Because of the low lying sun, and no sunglasses he didn't see my big stick in front of him.
I will mark this on the calender as someone saying sorry it is so rare!
I turn on my lights.
Let's see how the morning shift goes...🍭
Lots of cars stopping in the Keep Clear space.
So I have to go behind the car and try to stop the cars on the otherside of the road.
Some cars not even stopping and ignoring my stick!
BOING, BOING and BOING.
The news of two accidents that now have snarled Studley up.
Nothing can come and nothing can leave.
My side of the road was barely moving, and the few cars that was coming up the road, wasn't stopping for me!
More stopping in the Keep Clear space again!
This was going on well after I finished!
I had to go through the back roads, and the really long way home to avoid the jams that was still building.
Instead of the normal 15 mins, it took me 40 mins to get home.
Back home finally!
I put the coffee machine on.
I got my things ready to wear, as I am seeing someone who runs something that gives back to the Community.
Coffee Time.
Empties the recycling.
(Green bin is being emptied tomorrow)
I have a very early liquid lunch...
Just get ready to leave,
Get a text cancelling the meet up!
I then try to fit in writing yesterday's blog post now!
Now to hope I have a better shift than this morning!
Still had to go around the long way.
I got on my winter coat and winter hat.
Turned on my lights.
I grabbed my stick, and went for coffee!
Got chatting to another friend until the friend who I was going for coffee, reminded that time is marching on.
While waiting to give my order.
The Waitress was pouring some wine into a measuring cup, then putting it a wine glass.
I said,"I wouldn't bother with the measuring cup, I would just pour it in the glass!"
She laughed.
I ordered and we sat down and waiting for our coffee and mince pies to arrive.
My other friend arrived to have her mince pie.
Then we went outside for a little bit of rabbit before I started my afternoon shift.
I said "Goodbye" to my friends.
Now to start....
Oh dear, nearly took out a windscreen out in the first ten minutes of starting!
Lots of BOINGs given out to the cars on the otherside of the road.
Even stopping in the Keep Clear space!
The low lying sun is being a pain again!
Was glad to finish in one piece!
Home Time.
Nice cup of brew needed!
Time to use some bits up in the fridge.
Mushrooms, garlic and shallots were chopped up.
Chicken breasts were pan fried.
Then all put in the oven together.
Finished writing yesterday's blog post.
Hubby comes home and has a sloppy wet one 😘
Tea is dished up.
Yum.
Afterwards I looked into today's newspaper.
