Oh Yeah, I Am Trained To Use The Stick!

If a job's worth doing, it's worth doing well - Proverb
Welcome to my Hump Of the Week 🐫
Warm hug with brew.
Breakfast.
Opens the curtains...
Sunshine is coming back \o/
Dressed.
Gives hubby a sloppy wet 💋 before I leave.
It was still a bit cold to put the summer coat back on.
The big big sunglasses went back on.
I put on my lights on.
Now for the fun to start...🍭
Car drivers were going under my stick once it was raised up.
As soon as I dropped it down, they soon stopped.
The otherside of the road just as bad!
As least the sun is out!
I finished in one piece.
I chatting to a man who waves at me every morning.
His son got killed down Alcester Rd, On New Years's Eve in the late 1980's
(The other main road, which is far more busy than the road I do my lollypop job).
He was trying to cross the road, when he was hit at 70 m.p.h by a stolen black Ford Escort Xr3i.
The stolen car was later found burnt out.
He died after 11 days in hospital.
The Police got a lucky break, when they stopped another stolen black Ford Escort Xr3i. They got one of four teenagers that was in the car.
(The other 3 ran off)
The teenager admitted being in the car (In hit and run), and named the other 3 teenagers.
The driver of the car only got 2 and 1/2 years for killing the man in the hit and run.
That is why there is a Pedestrian Refuge Island there now.
I use my Pedestrian Refuge Island to cross people over.
I learnt it was put there as someone was killed crossing over the road!
After the man stopped talking,
I said his late son had the same first name as my husband, and his late wife shared my first name too.
I said if he ever wants to have a chat, he knows where I am.
Then off to the Co-op to get some supplies!
Then picked up my newspaper and my neighbour's magazine.
Back home.
I puts on the coffee machine.
Then I go around to see my neighbour with his magazine.
Has chat for a half an hour.
I got back and my coffee was ready!
My large sewing bag arrived!
The embroidery machine is in the poker dot bag.
Overlocker machine is in the grey bag.
The red and blue bag holds my sewing machine.
What is so strange, I have no power lead for the overlocker, and still can't find the power lead that came with the sewing machine either!
(Good job I bought a replacement one!)
I ran out of time to write yesterday's blog post and hop onto my spin bike either :(
Lunchtime arrives....
At last the sun comes out!
On goes my summer coat!
I put on my lights, and I chat with my two friends before I start my shift!
Now for the fun to start....🍭
Car drivers were again not stopping until I lowered my stick.
I had a man on my right watchng what I was doing.
One parent I crossed over, said to me..
"What a day I have had!"
"Time for a massage,"I replied to him
"Fat chance of that happening!" He laughed.
One car driver found his brakes just in time after I lowered my stick.
The passenger in the car was banging her gums when she went past.
The man that was watching me, asked me:
"Is that in your training? To do that with your stick?"
"Yes, and my four moves are in the Highway Code!" I replied.
He didn't answer that to that, and walked off.
I finished in one piece.
Now to get back home.
I put the tea in the oven.
Now to get down and write yesterday's blog post.
Hubby came back and a warm hug and a sloppy wet 😘.
Tea was served.
Once blog post was published.
Now to look into today's newspaper.

Oh Dear, Someone Has A Lead Foot!

The best way to spoil a good story is by sticking to the facts. - Author: Evan Esar
Welcome to my Saturday 📦📦📦
Nice hug with brew.
Breakfast.
One son up ready for work.
Dressed.
Now out of the house we go.
Before he goes into work, we nip into a Second hand shop to look for a wooden cane.
Gets one, and it's free!
Then onto Argos to get more storage boxes.
Then onto the Storage place.
First storage room was 35 sq feet.
"Too small,"I said closing the door.
Next was 70 sq feet.
I scoffed at that...
"Too small!"
Next was 100 sq feet.
I got it for the price of 80 sq foot.
(I have a filling it's going to be too small, we shall see!)
Now to get the newspaper with a bit of nibble to tide us over....
Bacon with black pudding......
YUM YUM!
Once we finished that.
Nice to trip to Bromsgrove Argos....
To get more Storage boxes...
It was like pulling teeth, waiting to be served.
Finally got my storage boxes!
We nipped into one charity shop.
We got the first 3 series of
Then to get a padlock.
Now back home to start on the loft!
Two piles to start with.
Tip or Storage.
Hubby done one trip to the Storage unit.
When he came back,
I went to pick up son from his job.
This is where is gets interesting.
One boy racer in his white Skoda Fabia, didn't want to get stuck behind me driving a red Skoda Fabia.....
We were at the traffic lights together in a nice line.
Green light, off I went, little boy didn't like that!
Down went the lead foot, overtook me in his lane, then crossed back into my lane at the roundabout.
Then I was behind him all the way to my son's workplace, shaking my head and singing along.
Picked son, and back home we went.
Hubby filled up his car.
Then for a cold drink..
As it was getting well warm!
Back home to load up car for another trip to the Storage unit....
That is after two car loads.
When hubby came back,
Time for a much needed light tea.
I even found a good book to read that came from the loft.
I wrote yesterday's blog post.
Then it was time to watch the big film.....
Quick look into today's newspaper.

James Frederick "Jimmie" Rodgers was an American singer and actor. Rodgers had a run of hits and mainstream popularity in the 1950s and 1960s. His string of crossover singles ranked highly on the Billboard Pop Singles, Hot Country and Western Sides, and Hot Rhythm and Blues Sides charts; in the 1960s, Rodgers had more modest successes with adult contemporary music.
He would have been 88 years old 🎈
He died aged 87 in 2021
Sleep Tea time.
Now off to bed as more clearing of the loft tomorrow!

(I left her loads of room!)
Further on, the traffic lights stopped me for no reason, as there were no other cars at the three way lights!
(Going to be one of those days!)

Done more tidying up to Tea at 3.
Then I went out to get a Lucky Bag from Morrisons.
(It's a good job I only got one, as the other two bags were the same as mine!)
I did my Stir Fry, but I had a little meat with it.
Mmmm  what to watch?
Hubby came back from visiting his dads.
He had a sloppy wet 💋
We carried on watching Netflix.
I quickly looked in today's newspaper before I pressed start.
Aretha Franklin  was an American singer, songwriter, and pianist. Referred to as the "Queen of Soul", she is regarded as the most influential female vocalist of the 1960s. Franklin began her career as a child, singing gospel at New Bethel Baptist Church in Detroit, Michigan, where her father C. L. Franklin was a minister.
At the age of 18, she embarked on a secular-music career as a recording artist for Columbia Records. While her career did not immediately flourish, she found acclaim and commercial success after signing with Atlantic Records in 1966. Hit songs such as "I Never Loved a Man (The Way I Love You)", "Respect", "(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman", "Chain of Fools", "Think" and "I Say a Little Prayer" propelled her past her musical peers.
She died on this day in 2018 aged 76.
Sleep Tea Time.
My kids are going to have their first Covid jab tomorrow....
Hopefully there won't be screams!
