Finally I Can Use It Again!

If you can't take the heat, don't tickle the dragon - Scott Fahlman
Welcome to my Saturday 🐝
Nice hug with brew.
We listened to last hour of "Sounds of the 60s"
Breakfast.
Dressed.
I was hoping to go to Droitwich Lions and give in my late dad's glasses.
(They recycle them)
One son was up to be dropped off at work, the other son wouldn't get out of bed on time.
Hubby was staying at home to wait for the Washing Machine Engineer....
Off we go...
Drops off son, and onto Homebase I go.
Gets some bits I need.
Back home.
Unpacks car.
Coffee time.
Son still wants to go to the Droitwich Lions.
Collects bag of glasses.
Off to Droitwich we go.
Parks opposite Waitrose.
Goes over to see the Droitwich Lions.
They were glad off the glasses.
My son bought some maps of some countries.
I bought a jar of marmalade.
Then off to look in some Charity Shops...
We dropped the trolley back to the car.
Now to get some bits from Waitrose.
There were some nice cars parked outside.
Done a bit of shopping, now for trip home via Hanbury.
I picked up the other son from his job.
The Washing Machine Engineer arrived at my house the same time I got home.
He looked under the sink, the washing machine pipe was missing two washers!
He done the job in five minutes!
Now I can use my washing machine!
While I was away, hubby had been busy.
He went on the Spin bike for 40 minutes, and was watching Squid Games.
He swept up the leaves which covered the path,
He cut the lawn too :)
Now for another trip out...
I heard one of my favourite Christmas songs for the first time this Christmas period...
Gets some Christmas presents for our kids while we were there.
There was a nice E reg VW Polo in the car park.
Back home to hide the pressies.
Once we had tea.
Time to watch episode 3 of Season 3 of Narcos: Mexico.
Quick look into today's newspaper.
Montserrat  Caballé  was a Spanish operatic soprano. She sang a wide variety of roles, but is best known as an exponent of the works of Verdi and of the bel canto repertoire, notably the works of Rossini, Bellini, and Donizetti. She was noticed internationally when she stepped in for a performance of Donizetti's Lucrezia Borgia at Carnegie Hall in 1965, and then appeared at leading opera houses. Her voice was described as pure but powerful, with superb control of vocal shadings and exquisite pianissimo.
Caballé became popular to non-classical music audiences in 1987, when she recorded, at the request of the International Olympic Committee, "Barcelona", a duet with Freddie Mercury, which became an official theme song for the 1992 Olympic Games. She received several international awards and also Grammy Awards for a number of her recordings.
She died on this day aged 85 in 2018.
Sleep Tea time.
We have already watched 8 episodes and only 2 left to watch tomorrow!
Off to walk about 4 miles tomorrow!

Bang, Crash, The Lid Comes Off!

That money talks, I'll not deny: I heard it once, it said, "Goodbye." - Richard Armour
Welcome to my Saturday 💪
I had a hot flush at 4.30am....
I couldn't cool down.....
Downstairs I went for a bit under the fan with a cup of tea!
I fell asleep for an hour...
Woke up and made a brew....
Took them upstairs....
Woke up Sleeping Beauty before the alarm went off...
We listened to Sounds of the 60s...
Breakfast.
Dressed.
Got one son up for his job.
Hubby waited for the Satellite repair man to come while I dropped off son at work.
I have a coffee and chat at my son's work.
Then off to Sainsbury's to drop off some shoes at the shoe bank.
Nipped into Sainsburys while I was there.
I gets back home shortly after.
No sign of the Satellite repair man, it had gone past 10am!

On his way, was his response when asked.
We had a sneaky bacon sandwich while waiting.
I went back to bed half an hour later to catch up on the sleep I missed this morning.
When I woke, the tree outside my son's bedroom window was just losing a large branch!
The Satellite Repair man, fixed the cable  that led from the sky box to the sky dish, however the branch belonging to the tree was blocking the signal.
He did offer to move the dish to the chimney for £150.
The tree losing one branch was the cheaper option.
The branch was added to the pile that was going down the Household tip tomorrow!
Light lunch.
We watched another episode of Hotel Inspector.
Then it was out for a little ride to get some bits..from...
Homebase.
Got some vanish for the garden bench.
Glue to glue back a horn back on the bull...
Next stop was a visit to our local Shopping Centre.
Parked in the Car Park.
Got some bits from Wilkinson's.
(Nice wind chime for the garden)
You still have to wear facemasks.
Some wasn't, glad I was.
I won some nibbles off a website "Too Good To Go."
I picked up the nibbles from Cafe Nero.
Back home.
When we put the bags on the kitchen table.
Hubby slammed the bag from Homebase on the floor....
Oh dear, I looked in the bag, the lid of the vanish came off and the whole bag contained white vanish......
Great!
Unpacked the bag from Cafe Nero.
Now to put the tea in the oven for later on.
I actually won a lucky bag from Waitrose for £5.
(Will collect that later)
Tea is served.
Later on, to collect my Waitrose order.
Brings my lucky bag back.
Our kids and I enjoyed Sushi for the first time.
Quick read of the newspaper.
After watching 2 more episodes of "Hotel Inspector", it was off to a nice inviting bed!

Dropping It Without Notice!

I gave him an unlimited budget and he exceeded it -
Edward Williams
Welcome to my Hump of the Week 🐫
Nice warm hug with brew.
Breakfast.
Dressed.
Now to sit outside with a coffee
Hubby took younger son on a walk to the shop, to get next door's magazine and our newspaper.
I had two blog posts to write!
I had another email from the Solicitor dealing with my late dad's estate.
The younger brother not happy with the extra £3000 he put into the estate, only added yet another £600 for 3 skips!!
He called me a Golddigger when I hired one to take away the things he dropped off at mine last year during the first Lockdown!!
I am glad I am going to work tonight.
I need to clean 26 toilets in this burning heat to get rid of my anger!
Blogs wrote and published.
Now to sit outside and enjoy lunch in the sunshine.
The DPD tried to deliver my parcel.
However it went past our house.
(We were sat in the front garden)
Tried to deliver to one of the factories down the road!
Then I had a text message saying the driver will be attempting delivery tomorrow now!
Hubby then went after the driver who was up the road delivering.
The driver came back, and balanced my parcel on a garden ornament↓
Now to unpack it!
I had to order things for the two Birthday cakes for next week.
One 50th and 17th Birthdays next week.
Let's hope the things get here on time!
The rain came in as planned!
I took my rain mac to work just in case, I get wet taking the bin bag outside to the big bin.
Gave everyone  big sloppy 💋💋💋
Time for some singing in the rain...
Gets in.
It's still well warm!
My hoover had been Pat tested!
Funny they backdated it to February!
It was so warm doing my job!
No windows opened.
Plenty of fluids being drunk!
Finished on time.
More music to singalong with on the way back home.
Back home.
The flowers looking nice!
I had my tea.
Quick look in the newspaper.
James Jones was an American singer-songwriter who moved to New York City while a teenager. According to Allmusic journalist Steve Huey, "best known for his 1960 R&B smash, 'Handy Man,' Jones sang in a smooth yet soulful falsetto modeled on the likes of Clyde McPhatter and Sam Cooke.
He would have been 91 years old🎈
He sadly died aged 82 in 2012.
I having my Sleep Tea in our bedroom.
When suddenly my hubby dropped his pants, revealing a pale white moon(Bum).
I was already warm,
I had a nice hot flush after seeing that!
The moon was soon covered up!
We are off to Bidford Car Boot tomorrow....
Let's hope loads of bargains tomorrow!
